It’s been 35 years since Marist Football first took the field in black on September 1, 1990. From 1990 to 2004, the black uniform defined an era of grit, unity, and achievement. We captured our first varsity championship in 1990, rose from Division III to Division I-AA (now FCS), and in 1997, our defense set national records—just 39.8 rushing yards allowed per game and 1.2 yards per carry.

Every milestone was earned in black.

Those jerseys weren’t just fabric. They represented who we were—tough, disciplined, proud, and relentless. They bonded us as teammates, as brothers, and as part of something bigger than ourselves.

Now, it’s time to bring that spirit back.

Bring Back the Black — Sponsor a Throwback Uniform

This season, we’re launching a special initiative to reintroduce an alternate black uniform—a tribute to the teams, the mindset, and the legacy that shaped Marist Football’s identity.

We’re turning to the alumni and supporters who lived it, loved it, and cheered it on.
Here’s how you can help:

  • Sponsor your number for a current player: $300

  • Add your own black throwback jersey: +$250 (total $550)

  • All proceeds go directly to the uniform purchase and the Marist Football program

  • Your donation includes Marist Touchdown Club membership
